Is my data secure?

In terms of privacy, your data will never leave your business, and you will be fully in control of your data privacy. As an administrator of Power BI App Workspace, you will decide who has access to which reports. eKnowtion will not access your data unless you give us authority; for example, if we help you set up the apps. We will not have ongoing access to your data, so you can rest assured your company’s highly confidential information is safe. You can find more information about Power BI security here.
What is the difference between the Standard and Premium level subscription?

Standard subscriptions can have up to 10 users of the Software. Premium subscriptions can have unlimited users of the Software. Premium subscription is also required for dataset-level customisation or on-premises installations.

Do I require Power BI Pro license?

Yes, Power BI Pro license is required to use and share our apps. Please purchase and assign Power BI licenses before installing our apps.
Can we connect apps to Business Central on-premises?

Yes, we also support on-premises installations. Premium Tier is required for on-premises Business Central installations. On-premises software upgrades may be subject to Additional Fees.
Are Business Central Insights apps and reports extensible or fixed?

Our Power BI apps are fully extensible. We support both report and dataset-level customisations and extensions. Report extensions - You can connect to our standard datasets (via live connection) to create your reports in Power BI service, Power BI Desktop, or Excel. Dataset extensions - You can extend our standard dataset by combining it with another custom dataset. We would be happy to explain this further and answer any questions in a meeting with you! Will I be able to do financial analysis across multiple companies?

Yes, all our datasets support an unlimited number of Business Central companies. You will be able to create cross-company reports and consolidated views. This means you can do a financial analysis (e.g. income statement, balance sheets etc) across multiple companies at one time. This allows for consolidating detail from multiple companies into one report. Amazing right?

How do I access the Power BI Insights Connector?

The prerequisite to use our Power BI report suites is to install and configure the Power BI Insights Connector app, found in the Microsoft AppSource. Detailed installation instructions could be found here. To open Power BI Insights connector app, follow the steps described here.
What is the difference between Power BI App and a Workspace?

Each Power BI app will have its own Power BI app workspace. E.g., the “Business Central Jobs Insights” app will have a dedicated “Business Central Jobs Insights” workspace. Power BI administrators that can access the workspaces will be able to configure automatic refresh times, as well as give end users access to the Power BI apps (and protect security of the data). It is recommended that end users do not have permissions to access workspaces. End users should only access individual apps.
